The Decal Source is Certified for Aircraft Decals
The Decal Source opened its doors in 1998. Since then we have been a wrap and decal machine. From Helicopter decal stripes to company logos on jet planes, we have you covered. We recently finished a project for Swift Air, a premier aircraft transportation company. With one of their hangers located at Piedmont Triad International airport, you could say they are in our backyard.
Installing Aircraft Decals or Wraps Requires Special Training and Certifications
Just not anybody can print or install decals on planes or helicopters. It requires specialized training and certification from the material manufacturer. 3M, a major player in the vinyl graphics sector, has two exterior aircraft graphic films. A7322 for short-term use and A7706 for medium-term use. Both materials require a special printing & finishing process to meet the manufacturing specifications. 3M must verify you meet the specification before they will even sell you the material. Once the material is installed it must be edge sealed with 3M Edge Sealer 3950. The film must be edge sealed to protect it from serious in-flight abrasion such as a jet going 500+ MPH.
Our installation crew is 3M certified and meets all the requirements to properly install aircraft graphics and decals. Call on TDS when you need aviation-specific decals or wraps. If it’s just FAA registration ID numbers or full corporate identity and branding, The Decal Source has you covered. Contact us for more information.
PTI is Booming with Aviation
PTI is quickly becoming an aviation hot spot with Honda Jet delivering its first plane this month and Haeco, an aircraft engineering and maintenance company, creating many new jobs. It is not uncommon to see large military C-17’s or Air Force One doing touch and goes. Among large multinational companies, there are also small local businesses getting in on the action.
